What Is Empowerment Therapy And How Can You Benefit From It?

At Inspired Health we generally treat physical pain through chiropractic care and massage 💆‍♂️ therapy. But we are also able to help with problems that are bigger than physical pain through empowerment therapy.

There is nothing wrong with asking for help when life’s ups ⬆ and downs ⬇ get too much for you. Receiving assistance through empowerment therapy can help you discover the resources you already have to manage stress and life’s worries.

Whether you’re dealing with a particularly stressful time, or you need a little help getting through the day, empowerment therapy is a good option to consider.

What Is Empowerment Therapy?

Stress doesn’t only affect your mind, it affects your body too, particularly when your body goes into ‘fight or flight mode’ which is a natural response to stress. Our therapist is trained to help people to become more empowered 💪 in their lives and be able to deal with, and let go of, stress in a healthy 🧘‍♂️ way. This leads to faster healing and can be the key to staying well in the long run.

Empowerment therapy is used to assist you with the way you react to stress, no matter the cause of your stress. This form of therapy is also suitable for people dealing with unexpected stress that can trigger feelings of mental and emotional distress.

What Techniques Are Used?

Empowerment therapy is a unique blend of a variety of techniques. The techniques used during your session will be tailored to your specific situation and needs.

The three main techniques used at our practice are:

  • Clinical hypnotherapy: This is nothing like the type of hypnosis you see on TV 📺 and in films. Clinical hypnotherapy is a powerful, natural, and safe mindset 💭 technique that spurs lasting change at a subconscious level.
  • Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP): This technique addresses your mind, your internal dialogue, and the programmes your inner thoughts used to determine decisions, behaviour, and actions.
  • Meditation: Our therapist will speak to you about embracing meditation 🧘‍♀️ as a way to expand your consciousness and awareness.

What Can Empowerment Therapy Help With?

Empowerment therapy is designed to help you manage your thoughts 🤔, take control of your behaviour and responses, and recognise what you need to do to feel good and make sustainable changes in your life.

Our therapist specialises in stress, anxiety, and self-leadership confidence building. She also works effectively with phobias, obsessive thinking, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), as well as addictions, chronic pain, relationship issues, low self-esteem, body dysmorphia and eating disorders.

Empowerment therapy is aimed at breaking the emotional patterns 🙌 often involved with preventing the healing of long-term painful conditions. Other issues that this form of therapy can address are work-related stress 💻, anger management 😡, depression 😟, bullying, domestic violence, sexual abuse, mood disorders, post-natal depression (PND) 🤰 and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to name but a few.

How Will I Feel While Going For Empowerment Therapy?

While you may have a journey ahead of you as you embrace your inner strength, patients often report feeling more confident, centred 💪 and able to deal with and let go of stress more easily. You may feel more ‘well’ in general and better equipped to handle challenging situations through the tools and techniques you learn.
